Where to in 2020?

Autumn is a beautiful time of year. The weather cools and the rain is falling. We feel energised to go out and explore. Australia has had a torrid few months but is starting to recover.  The silly season is over, the roads are quieter and the prices affordable. Where will you go in 2020?

Travel domestically

Overseas travel is unattractive and potentially dangerous so 2020 is the year to travel domestically. Explore  places that you have never been to before. It doesn’t have to be the road trip of a lifetime ór be expensive. Just take a weekend or a  few days away from your normal life.
Lòok up old friends or catch up with the relatives.Wander off the highways to visit places you have only seen on the news or have always wanted to visit.

Spend as you Go

We are told to pack an empty esky.http://www.emptyesky.com.au What a great idea. It is a national movement to get foodies and adventurers to support local businesses. Get in the car with no plans and go where you want. No need to pack. Spend as you go is the idiom for 2020. No expensive air flights just wander down the roads less travelled. Be curious, be adventurous. Try somewhere new. Spend your dollars as you go in towns and villages that are hurting from drought or fire.

 Just go somewhere new.

Come and stay and visit Eat the Street in Lismore from 12th March. Its all about  local producers, musicians and food creators showcasing their products. You can taste local food and even visit the farms where the food is grown.

 Spend with them

Spend with them is a catchy logo.Check out the great products on Instagram@spendwiththem and read the story behind the idea at http://www.wsfm.com.au
Even if you can’t leave home you can still buy from the bush. http://www.buyfromthebush.com.au There are some amazingly talented people on isolated properties who would love to connect with you. Support small remote businesses from the comfort of your home.

2020 is the year to experience new ideas and visit new places.

Grab your pets, your children or your loved one and jump in the car and drive away. It will be new and refreshing and it might even give you a feel good feeling.

We look forward to meeting you @alstonvillecottages.

Let us be part of your new experiences.

We would love to help you plan your trip to somewhere new.
